Romería in Honour of the Cristo de las Agonías

Alhaurín el Grande’s romería sets off from town on horseback, in decorated carts and on foot, following the Cristo de las Agonías out to the ermita at Finca La Mota. It’s a two-day affair: a procession and Mass, then a day of camping out at the finca with an equestrian exhibition, paella cooked in the open, and dancing that runs into the evening.
The exact September weekend hasn’t been confirmed for 2026, but it has fallen on the second weekend of the month in recent years.
