Romería de San Miguel (Torremolinos Pilgrimage)

Billed as Andalucía’s largest urban pilgrimage, this romería sees thousands of people process from Avenida de los Manantiales up to the Ermita de San Miguel in the Los Pinares pine woods, many on foot, others riding decorated ox-carts and horses. Along the way there’s music, dancing and plenty of ham and wine shared between groups.

It opens the week of festivities that lead into the Feria de San Miguel and is one of the town’s most photographed traditions.
