Rifa and Bajá of Our Lady of the Holy Fountain

The centrepiece of Pizarra’s August celebrations, this centuries-old tradition honours the Virgin of the Holy Fountain with solemn religious processions and the distinctive rifa and bajá ritual, where a statue of the Virgin is carried through town in a centuries-old ceremony unique to the region.
