Jábega Boat Regatta

Crews row jábegas — the wooden fishing boats once used to launch nets straight off Málaga’s beaches — out into the port to race, one of the older traditions kept alive during fair week and a reminder of the city’s history as a fishing town.

Spectators line the quaysides to watch the crews compete; no ticket is needed, just find a spot with a clear view of the water.
