Fiesta del Santo Niño y San Juan de Dios

The statue of the Holy Child leaves the Castillo del Águila and is carried in procession to the Ermita de la Adelfilla, a hermitage set among woodland outside the village. Villagers follow on foot, and the pilgrimage has been made this way for around 500 years, making it the oldest and most important date on Gaucín’s calendar.

The nine days that follow bring further processions through the streets, alongside music and the usual fiesta stalls, before the celebrations close with the return of the statue to the castle.
